Why this work is personal

She’s sat on your side of the desk

Dr. Abby’s conviction about root-cause medicine didn’t come from a textbook. It came from living through her own significant health struggles — and walking through her son Luke’s — and discovering firsthand how much the body can heal when someone finally looks for the reasons instead of managing the symptoms.

That experience is why patients at Genesis are believed first and investigated thoroughly. She knows exactly what it feels like to be told everything looks fine when everything feels wrong.

“I’ve lived what I teach — and I’ve seen what the body can do when it’s finally given the right tools.”

How she thinks

A different kind of clinical thinking

I.
The timeline is the diagnosis

She reads your whole history — every lab, diagnosis, and turning point — as one chronological story before your first appointment. Complex cases usually make sense once someone reads them in order.

II.
Systems over symptoms

Hormones, thyroid, blood sugar, gut, liver, immune activation — evaluated as one interconnected system, because that’s how your body runs them.

III.
Evidence before protocol

Testing is chosen by your history, and every recommendation ties back to a finding. No guessing, no one-size-fits-all cleanses, no supplement-first medicine.

IV.
Honesty over persuasion

If your case isn’t one she serves well, she’ll say so and point you somewhere better. An honest no is part of good medicine.

The experience

What patients can expect

To be heard, fully

Unhurried appointments where your whole story gets told — and your intake is read before you arrive, not skimmed while you talk.

To understand everything

Results explained until they make sense — whiteboard included. You’ll always know what we found, what it means, and what comes next.

To be guided, not sold

A clear plan with scheduled support at every step — and straight answers about fit, timeline, and investment before you commit.

The bigger story
Genesis Functional Wellness grew out of a family practice built on the same conviction

One belief, from the start — that real answers come from finding the cause.
